Recently, we have received inquiries regarding the taste and smell of the district’s water. While we appreciate the concern this may cause, the water is safe to drink. PWSD#2 gets its water from KCMO. KCMO and PWSD#2, both, test the water frequently and on an ongoing basis to ensure compliance to state and federal regulations. The following notification has been released by the Kansas City, MO Water Department.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Recent changes in the alkalinity of the Missouri River have caused customers to experience a metallic taste in their water. Treatment modifications can take up to 5-10 days to reach homes. The water is still safe to use and we hope to have the drinking water back to normal soon.
Thank you for your understanding and patience.
